25min – Boltenhagen

The recognized seaside resort of Boltenhagen on the Baltic Sea can be reached in 25 minutes from the holiday home in Roxin. The fishing village of Boltenhagen is located in the Klützer Winkel on the Boltenhagenbucht between Lübeck and Wismar. In addition to a long sandy beach coast, there is also a cliff coast up to 35 meters high to discover to the west. Boltenhagen offers a lot. In addition to a pier, seasonal passenger shipping, a promenade with shops, restaurants and a spa park, numerous activities are possible. There is a riding stable, bicycle rental, a ship in a bottle museum, a climbing park, swing golf, beach volleyball, live music, a discotheque and inviting routes for hiking and cycling.

 

The suburb of Boltenhagen is Klütz, here it is worth taking a trip to Bothmer Castle, a detour to the landmark and restaurant “Klützer Mühle” in good weather or to the Klützer Eck country house.

22min – Travemünde

A maritime pearl just 10 minutes’ drive from Roxin, Travemünde is always worth a visit. The landmark of the elegant seaside resort is the proud four-masted barque Passat, which can be viewed on the Priwall shore. There are three beaches for bathing and on the banks of the Trave estuary you can see great ships, from the very small to the mighty ferries and container giants. A culinary trip to Steffen Henssler’s Restaurant Ahoi on the newly designed Priwall Promenade is worthwhile where you can enjoy delicious delicacies with a view of the Baltic Sea and the mouth of the Trave.

20min – Wohlenberger Wiek Beach

The holiday resort of Wohlenberg on the Baltic Sea is only 20 minutes away by car from the holiday home.Here is a semicircular bay, the “Wohlenberger Wiek” in the immediate vicinity of Wismar and Boltenhagen with a 4 km long sandy beach. The entry into the Baltic Sea is very shallow here due to the shallow water zone, which is up to 300 meters wide, until it drops deeper and reminds of a paddling pool to the delight of young and old due to the shallow water.

There are well signposted cycle paths, the Wohlenberger Wiek is also ideal for water sports such as windsurfing or SUP etc. The recommended water sports school Knopf, the ice cream parlor Island15/6 with delicious homemade ice cream, the KinderMotoLand and smaller dining options are located directly on site, and there is often also the opportunity to buy fresh smoked fish at the mobile stand on the sandy parking lot by the pier.

15min – Wellness, creativity and meditation Stellshagen

In the organic and health hotel Gutshaus Stellshagen, which is only 15 km (20 minutes) away from the holiday apartment, visitors can enjoy a variety of vegetarian buffets with the hotel’s own agricultural products in the restaurant after prior registration. In the Tao Health Center, naturopaths, physiotherapists and beauticians take care of your health. A sauna area and a large natural bathing pond invite guests to relax in the sauna and swim from Monday to Thursday.

 

Only 5 km away you can visit and marvel at the completely renovated Bothmer Castle in Klütz.

10min – Butterfly Park Klütz

Here you will find out everything you need to know about butterflies, their way of life, what threatens them – and above all how each individual can do something to protect butterflies. Hundreds of forest moths from Asia and South America fly in a tropical jungle landscape, including the largest moth in the world, the Atlas silk moth with a wingspan of up to 32 cm. All animals come from breeding stations and not from the wild.

28min – Lübeck

Lübeck is a beautiful old Hanseatic city and a popular destination for city travelers.
The Trave, Wakenitz and Elbe-Lübeck canal flow through the city and invite you to take a walk along the banks and in the old town. Here you will find 90 romantic corridors, gateways and backyards, which reveal their mysterious charm on a guided tour. The Holsten Gate, Cathedral, Petri Church and patrician houses in the city center radiate respectability and old beauty. Don’t forget to nibble on the world-famous Niederegger marzipan – a wonderful treat. The production can be admired personally in the marzipan manufactory. Shopping enthusiasts will get their money’s worth in Hüxstraße.  120 shops on 517m offer everything from alternative world shops to hip boutiques. The Italian Andronaco Grande Mercato at Töpferweg 57 serves pizza, pasta and meat dishes at bistro tables.  The self-service restaurant in the Italian supermarket is highly recommended for small or large appetites.  Everything is tasteful and super tasty. Destinations such as Hamburg, Timmendorf, the island of Fehmarn or Weißenhäuser Strand can also be easily reached by train from Lübeck.

34min – Wismar

The Hanseatic city of Wismar with the old port is located in the Wismar Bay on the Baltic Sea coast and is protected by the offshore island of Poel. The historic old town with its valuable town center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Wissemara is a replica of the historic Poeler Kogge and invites you to go sailing or go on day trips. A culinary tip is a visit to the Seeperle. This location rightly received the “Best Fish Gastro Concept” award in 2020. Whether fresh fish, smoked fish, fish rolls or dishes from the galley, everything is prepared appetizingly and very tasty.

47min – Schwerin

Schwerin, as the state capital of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, invites you to take exciting excursions with its magnificent castle, its incredible 12 lakes and the Mecklenburg State Theater. In addition to the old town with the Pfaffenteich and the museums, visitors can also discover a climbing park and the Easyjump trampoline park. Volleyball fans should not miss a game of SSC Palmberg Schwerin in the Palmberg Arena. The team plays very successfully in the 1st women’s volleyball league.

14min – Stone Age village Kussow

The Stone Age village of Kussow, not far from the L3 Grevesmühlen road in the direction of Boltenhagen, is a replica of the Stone Age settlement. The open-air museum shows models of houses and huts based on archaeological finds from Flögel and Wittenwater. In the hands-on museum there are tools, herbs, plants and angler saddle pigs that can be admired. You can even try out the weaving, pottery and archery of the Stone Age people yourself, a good idea for the next children’s birthday party.
